RE: Scam??? Virtual Direct USA

I tried all last week to find feedback from someone - anyone - regarding them. It's difficult, because some very legit employers charge a fee for background checks. But then so do the scammers.

I looked them up in the Who's Who in Teleservices and didn't find anything. But then - its a new website/company, so perhaps its not listed yet. (The domain was just registered on Nov. 11th 2006)

The domain is registered to Eric Ganz, but no information there either.

Honestly, I am concerned about this one. One of my biggest concern is that they use a gmail (free Google email) account when you apply. Proceed with caution until we get more information. Our SOHO decoy completed the agent application process has not heard anything nor received any job offer.

My gut tells me scam so I will keep you posted!

Thanks for your reply. The email account was exactly what put the brakes on me registering. I am always leary of any company who uses one of the free email services. I'll stay on top of this and now that I have a name. I'll run it through my program I use for  national criminal checks and see if any thing pops up on the horizon.

Thanks

Has your SOHO decoy received any response from Virtual Direct USA since Dec. 18th?

Thanks.

Hi All Fellow SOHOers:

Happy Holidays Everyone

I was offered a position with the the company Virtual Direct USA but I'm wondering if they really are a scam??? They charge a fee of I believe the email said of $35 for a background check.  I think correct me if I'm wrong West or one of the other virtual customer service companies also charges for this type of background check. So I know it is a practice that is done. In fact, I actually do work part time on a contract from home for a major US company that conducts these types of checks. However, I haven't really heard much about this company Virtual Direct USA and  I was wondering if this company is on the scam list??? The opportunity seemed fairly good to replace one of my expiring contracts in 2007.  Thanks any input would be appreciated.
