RE: FHA Loan Refunds & Grant Guides?

I Thought I would have had some sort of reply by now regarding whether this company was legit or not. I've filed a report with the FTC to investigate.

If ANYONE has Any knowledge regarding this company PLEASE PLEASE pass it along to everyone. As things do seem to be on the up & up BUT this nagging sensation and the Bell Ringing that is going off in my head......................about a previous scam regarding FHA Loan Refunds & Grant Guides has me baffled.

Again Please respond with some sort of reply as to whether the company is legit or this is a bogus scam situation. Thanksweirdface

Sorry - I do not have information about this program. However, from my experience - most people are very disappointed in these types of offers. They never lead to anything so don't waste your time.

HUD does not have a relationship with these third party tracer organizations, nor does HUD authorize these organizations to obtain refunds or issue refund notices.

You might also find it helpful to read http://www.sohojobs.org/scam8.html

Best wishes!

Michelle,

Thank you so much for the advice on this, I appreciate it. I knew there was something but I couldn't think of what it was, the tracers.

Thanks Again, weirdface

FHA Loan Refunds & Grant Guides?

I was interested in these types of jobs a couple of years ago until I read that it is illegal to request a fee to process a FHA or HUD refund. Homeowners or people on those programs can get those for FREE. I read that on a website of an investigation company who was shutting tracers down.

Please excuse me as I am unsure whether what I'm dealing with is legit or an old bogus game using a new name. I've tried to research on the BBB to no avail.

Several years ago I seem to remember a big Scam & hub a bloo about Federal Home Loan Refunds and Grants. Forgive me if I'm being too leary but after my last adventure I have to be. I was hired on by this company whose website is called Finger Lakes. This was back in June and they are just now due to one thing or another getting me trained, last night as a matter of fact.

When I was hired in I was told I would just be answering the phone and taking address information from people that were sent postcards with a special # they would be giving me.

When I was having my software set up this "ASI" thing kept appearing so I asked what it was, as I was concerned it was that NCHD thing. I was reassured it wasn't anything bogus like that, the abbreviation stood for:
Affiliated Strategies Inc

Last night during training, the trainer started referring to the ASI FHA and the Grants. I questioned what was meant by the FHA and Grants because I had bells ringing so loud in my head I could barely her what she was saying.

The "ASI Program" FHA is Federal Housing Association where people can order a guide for $69.00 to get a loan refund on their home or something such as this. The Grant Guide is also $69.00 and lists all the Government Grants and paperwork to file that is available.

Since I had previously tried to check them out using finger lakes and Affiliated Strategies on the BBB using their address which is a PO Box and also using 3 different phone numbers I have on them with out any results what so ever. I contacted the owner of the company by email and point blank asked him, What was this company listed as on the BBB and Chamber of Commerce. I was surprised when he replied and he was extremely pleasant about it, they were listed as
Affiliated Strategies Inc.

There are several people at my other forum that are working for them and getting paid on time and regularly. They all seem to be quite happy with the work, the working situation and the company.

Maybe I'm just being way too parnoid but WHAT is it I am remembering about the FHA Loan refund scam and the Grants Guide? I am positive there is something to it but cannot put my finger on it and I don't want to get into a scam and run situation.

Oh by the way I finally put a stop to all the bogus emails about check & money order cashing then wire transfering Money Over Seas..................I got mad one day after receiving the 5th email of the day from different people requesting the same thing. I hit reply and told them in no uncertain terms they were dealing with someone that had worked with the Federal Reserve and I knew for a fact what they were attempting to do was a bogus scam. If they didn't quit bothering me with their garbage I would immediately be turning them into the Federal Reserve. Knock wood I haven't had once since. idea I know you don't reccommend communication with them but it did put a stop to it for me at least.

I have tried something similar with home fha/va home refunds. But, either the people already got their refund or they moved away and I had to goto the library to track them down.  I never got paid anything at all. and all the high dollar ones got picked over already.  or, the people I spoke with were not interested in my services.
Good Luck, hope your more sucessful than I was.

I requested information from one of these orgs. once, paid my money and they continued to hit my bank account monthly until I threatened prosecution.  They never refunded my money so I turned them in to IC3, the internet crime division of the FBI.
